Our bike trip from Kolkata to Bakkhali was started on 7th September 2018 and it was Friday when we throttled our bike for our most
awaited destination Bokkhali. It was early in the morning around 6 o`clock when we started from Kolkata and we had to cover almost 160 km to reach Bakkhali.
Driving Directions to Bakkhali from Kolkata by Road:-
This route usually has less traffic and 160 km distance is from my home particularly but if you google it from Kolkata it is around 137 km and usually, it takes 4-5 hrs to reach there by road but in our case, it took around 5-6 hrs because we were exploring the places nearby road. As usual, we did not pre-book our hotel
because it's our experience, in every touring spot you will get room to stay. In this trip, we got a great room at Henry's Island which is totally West
Bengal Govt fishery dept compound. There are 2 resorts which provide the best accommodation in its class.
In the late 19th century Henrys surveyed the area that's why this island named after on his name. It is around 08km from Bakkhali and full of mangrove trees Jungle which can be accessed through the narrow bamboo bridge.
Bakkhali and Henry's Island is well communicated. Only allowed for those
who stay at those govt lodges. Room rent is not so high it's Rs.1300/- per day for
cottage room. We stayed at a cottage, it's was really so awesome place.
We stayed at Bakkhali for 2 days, the first day we went for a first visit to the Bokkhali beach for a while in the afternoon and then from there, we went to the beach at Henry's Island in the evening.
On the next day on 8th Sept Saturday, we went to Bakkhali early in the morning to see the world-famous Sun Rise. Then we took our Breakfast there and come
back to our room. Then to Henry's Island Beach for Bath and we enjoyed lots
over there. The main thrill is to cross a river that was the Hatania-Doania river by a vessel. It was so exciting for us. You can watch it on our Blog Video.
On the 9th of Sept, we started our bike to return home. We reached
home at 3:30 pm and completed our bike trip from Kolkata to Bakkhali.
