Bichitrapur # Weekend Trip On Bikes From Kolkata -Udukku13

Bichitrapur is a weekend trip destination in Balasore district of Orissa and it is yet to be discovered a place which is full of mangrove forest and known for its muddy and large colored crabs. Our weekend trip on bikes from Kolkata is one of the best trips on the road.

On 13th July 2018, It was the Rath Yatra festival in India for 4 days. And we were looking these days as opportunities for our next biking trip and we throttled our bike for Bichitrapur. It is around 220 km from our Home(Kolkata). Bichitrapur is located in the Balasore district of Orissa and it is a mangrove reservoir forest. Here you can see Red Ghost Crab and Horse Shoe Crab and many kinds of sea creatures.

We started our bike for the trip at 11 am and reached Bichitrapur at 3 pm and the problem we faced that there is no hotel or any other place to stay so again we had to return back to the Udaipur beach area as there is a West Bengal govt lodge. It almost 25 km before Bichitrapur. and situated on West Bengal and Orissa Border. But in that lodge we also didn't get any room to stay because of the holiday season this lodge was already booked. So we had to get back to the new Digha which was also not far from Bichtrapur and we booked a hotel there. We booked a double-bedded room with INR 700/- per night.

We enter the room at 5 pm. And got freshen up. And we were hungry so we got out for some food as we didn't take any lunch or any eatables. We went to Digha beach for fish fries and all. We enjoyed our lunch there and enjoyed the Digha beach. New Digha Beach is also a nice place but it is much crowded as compare to Bichitrapur Beach.

On the next day, it was the 14th of July and we went to our main destination called Bichitrapur, a Mangrove forest heaven. Bichitrpaur place is also turned into sheltering ground for birds, olive ridley turtles, Red Ghost Crab, and Horse Shoe Crab. There are some small stalls beside the beach where you can take snacks, tea, and other refreshments.

Points to follow when Visit Bichitrapur

• The best time to visit Bichitrapur is between Oct to March.
• In the winter season, you may have a chance to see migratory birds here.
• Try to bring some eatables with you all the time.
• Try to book cottages or hotels nearby in advance.
• This tour is about two days.
