Our bike trip from Kolkata to Digha by road was started on 19 July and it was Monday when we gave thrust to our bike for our most awaited destination Digha. We had to cover almost 187 km to reach Digha.
Driving Directions to Digha from Kolkata by Road:-
This route usually has less traffic and 187 km distance is from my home particularly but if you google it from Kolkata it is around 184 km and usually, it takes 5-6 hrs to reach Digha by road from Kolkata, but in our case, it took around 5-6 hrs because we were exploring the places nearby road. however, You can take NH16 and NH16B to reach there. Things to see In Digha:-
Digha Beach-
Digha beach is one of the most beautiful and unexplored beaches of India which has its own scenic view. Digha beach is a low gradient with shallow sand and extended up to 7 k.m. It has gentle rolling waves which will help you to flow calmly. This beach is also called weekend trip destination beaches for families, couples and friends.
New Digha Beach-
New Digha Beach is a man-made beach and it's about 2 kilometres away from old Digha Beach. This beach is mostly famous for its alluring sunrises and sunsets. During sunrises and sunsets, you can see the beauty of golden sun rays reflecting from water to your eyes. This beach is mostly preferred by the tourists who want easier accessibility and who can spend a little more money on less crowded beaches.
Marine Station/ Aquarium of Zoological Survey of India, Digha (MARC)
MARC is the major attraction for tourists who visit Digha because it has the largest inbuilt aquarium in India. Here, you can see sea species like anemones, lobsters, sharks, rays, sea snakes, butterflyfishes, horseshoe crabs and other species that are not commonly heard by people.
Best Time to Visit Digha:-
Oct -Feb is the peak season to visit Digha. At this time of the year, you can expect present and sunny weather and you can also enjoy Durga puja celebrations and water sports at this time.
Mar-Jun is the moderate season to visit Digha. At this time of the year, you can expect hot and humid weather and you can also enjoy escaping crowds and heavy off-season discounts.
Jul- Sep is the offseason to visit Digha. At this time of the year, you can expect unexpected rains and humidity and you can also enjoy heavy off-season discounts.
