Dimna Lake (Jamshedpur)-2018; Road Trip to Dimna Lake from Kolkata

Dimna Lake is situated in Jamshedpur and it was constructed by TATA Steel. It is near to the Dalma wildlife sanctuary and has a nice view. Udukku13 had our road trip to Dimna Lake from Kolkata on our bikes.

Our Experience of biking During This Road Trip to Dimna Lake From Kolkata-

It was another December in 2018. A total of six people started the bike to go to Dimna Lake, Jamshedpur. Five partners Argha, Sajib, Hiron, Samiron & Sangita, start their journey with four bikes from Palta and me, Anirban (Me), meets with them at Bally Halt as they were waiting for me. In the Morning finally, we started the journey from Bally. Last night I was on the train. So next morning I was very tired but I took the bike handle stately and start the ride. This trip was very planned and nice. After we take a break in Kolaghat for breakfast. We did not take heavy lunch on that entire journey. We take only nuts, cakes, biscuits, tea, etc, like lunch, because of unwanted physical lethargy. There are three routes to reach Jamshedpur. one road condition was very bad due to roadwork, another one was likely the same condition and the third one was good but due to some misconception, we take the second road and fall into problems. The weather was so good and very comfortable to ride. After all, we reached Dimna at 5:30 pm. there was so cold to ride in the threshold of the evening in Jamshedpur. Our hotel or resort was not booked. Therefore, the first job to do in Dimna found a hotel that has a safe parking for our bikes. After checked in the hotel, our first job was to order a heavy dinner, because we were starving. 

The next job was fresh ourselves and then ready a next day plan. The next day we go to Dalmadal Range, Dimna Lake, Jubilee park, etc. for sightseeing. that day we spend very nice. Dalmadal Range was a very beautiful place, there are jungle, elephant, Hills and good natural beauty. 

And after there we went to Dimna lake. We back to the hotel at 8 pm. On this trip, we did not visit many places because of time. The next morning about 6:30 am we start our journey back home. This time we choose wisely the third road. that road was so good in condition. we completed our trip successfully.

Dimna Lake Distance, Driving Directions By Road

As I told you in my journey experience that there are a total of three ways to go to Dimna Lake two of them were not good but the third one was neat and clean so choose wisely. I have embedded a map of all the three ways in google Maps you can scroll and have a complete look of the roads. Dimna Lake Distance is around 293kms from Kolkata as you can see on the map. And you can also find driving directions here on the map. You can opt route via NH16 and NH 18 and this has tolls also.

Tourists attractions in Jamshedpur near Dimna Lake 

Dimna Lake-  Dimna Lake is situated in Jamshedpur and it was constructed by TATA Steel in Boram Block. It is near to the Dalma wildlife sanctuary and has a nice view. This lake also have boating facilities. This lake have rush during the months Nov to Feb but you can visit any time there is no restrictions to visit Dimna lake. It is just 15 km from Jamshedpur and public transport is also available instead of private transport.

Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary- This sanctuary is situated in Jamshedpur in the area of 195 sq km and it was established in 1975. This sanctuary is rich in sry peninsular sal forests and northern dry mixed deciduous forests. Instead of giant elephants, this sanctuary is also a home for leopard, barking deer, moose, deer, giant squirrel, and a sloth bear. Timings for this sanctuary starts from 07:00 am to 05:00 pm whole year. Entry fees are very nominal to this sanctuary.

Jubilee park- This park is one of the best outdoor picnic spot for outdoor picnic lovers and it is situated in the city of Jamshedpur. This is the best place for outdoor activities in relation to the picnic. This park was developed and owned by TATA Steel Ltd. This park was opened in Aug 1958.
